Where's the Beef?

Dear Blog Audience,

For those of you who don't know me, (I am sure that there are a few of you, judging by my counter that I put up last week) I grew up on a cattle ranch. For as long as I can remember, I have gone out and helped my dad...(not as much as you might think, but more than my siblings would let you believe.) Here is some evidence:

I know, I know...I am very cute and bandanas do wonders for my looks :)
So why am I telling you this? Well one of the perks of being a cattle rancher's daughter is that of free beef. Let me put this in another way...I have never purchased an ounce of beef in my life. The point of my story is to not brag about the oodles of money that I have saved along the way, but to lament that I have no idea how to buy it. I don't know what kind to buy or what color it should be or what a good price is. This February has been a sad one, we ate our LAST roast that made the journey across the country with us. I had honestly been dreading this day, it is the end of an era. I can't possibly imagine months of roast-less Sundays. Eventually I am going to have to break down, suck it up, and shell out the money. I am not quite ready to make the leap yet, but when I do, I have no doubts that my dad will be on the phone guiding me through the life-changing process.
I know, my life is very rough...

I PASSED!!!

I am half-way to a CPA!!!!

For those of you unfamiliar with the CPA exam. It is four different sections (Regulation, Financial, BEC, and Audit.) You need to get a 75 to "pass." I took Financial in the fall, and found out in December that I passed. This section was Regulation, I took it in January. I am taking a break from the tests during tax season but plan to take the other two in May and July. So basically I have six more months of pure excitement and fun!

Happy Valentine's Day

My husband loves me.

Twenty-four red roses! I think I was the envy of the office today.

Some food for thought.

The other night (when Kyle got home from California) I decided to actually make dinner. I haven't really had the most time lately to do the finer things in life like make dinner. So I went to Trader Joe's after work and picked a few things up. I actually quite like that hippie store. I know, I know...it isn't hippie it's healthy. Anyways it turned out quite delicious. Enjoy a few pictures.

Next photography lesson...lighting.  I obviously haven't mastered that.  (You will also see that in a couple of other pictures I am going to post tonight.)

Some new additions.

A recent visitor to our home said "I have the Utah decorating thing going on."  I think in his awkward little way it was a compliment.

We have a new look on top of our entertainment center.  I fell in love with this picture of the Salt Lake Temple last year at the parade of homes in Utah.  We got one for each of our moms for Mother's Day, but made the mistake of not getting one for ourselves.  I had expressed to my mom that I was going to steal hers, but seeing as she had grown quite fond of it herself, she gave me my own for Christmas.  Some day I will get around to putting a picture in the "family" frame.

Happy Super Bowling...

Kyle and I had a rockin' Super Bowl Party this year!  I even made salsa.

Enjoy the pictures.  When you don't have cute children to post cute pictures of, you have to be creative in incorporating pictures with the blog.

I gave the new camera a test drive on the salsa.  They aren't quite professional, but I am still practicing.

OK...

Here are ten things that have happened since our last post: (not the very last post, the one before that...)

1. We went to Idaho for Christmas.
2. We went to Utah for New Year's.
3. Kyle finished his first semester of school.
4. I PASSED THE FINANCIAL SECTION OF THE CPA EXAM.
5. I took the Regulation section of the CPA exam (still waiting for the results.)
6. Kyle has an interview for dental school at USC on February 8.
7. The doors on my car were completely frozen shut for almost 2 days (actually there was a nice layer of ice on the entire car.)
8. In hopes of developing a hobby in 2008...I got a new camera for Christmas. Funny how I still haven't really taken a picture. I think i might need some lessons. (Or something/someone to take a picture of.)
9. Went shopping at Rod Works while in Utah. I love that store.
10. Lindsay got into BYU (5 for 5 in the Christensen family)! Mitch got an offer from Idaho State to play football! Michelle changed majors! Valerie got fun roommates! Derek got an internship! Keith came and visited! Nicole had a birthday! Natalie, well, we are still waiting to hear some exciting news from her...hint, hint (oh, man...I am turning into one of the Christensen girls...)!

Kudos to us, for coming up with 10 things! We would like to thank our siblings for helping us out with #10.

Speaking of families...maybe I will post a picture or two.

Here are our families.

The time has come...

I don't really have much to say, but don't you think it is time for something new to look at?

Oh wait, we don't really have any new pictures...

We are boring.
