Rice Cereal!

We decided to have Hadley try some rice cereal this morning.  I wouldn't say she LOVED it, but she didn't seem to mind it.  She definitely didn't swallow very much.

Cirque Du Soleil

*disclaimer. This post has NOTHING to do with Hadley

Last weekend the "fun committee" at my work took us all to Cirque Du Soleil. We saw Kooza, and it was A-Mazing! It was in a circus tent on the Santa Monica pier.  This was our first time seeing Cirque Du Soleil, and we both LOVED it!  This was also our first night on the town sans-Hadley.  We had our great friends watch her, so knowing that she was in good hands made it very easy to plunge into the world of babysitting.

Because I work from home, I was unable to get the tickets prior to the show so one of my co-workers had ours.   She was running late and we were early, so we stood outside the gate for almost an hour.  When 8:00 rolled around, she still wasn't there and the show was beginning.  A lady noticed us standing there and asked us if we had tickets. We told her we were waiting for them to come.  She just so happened to be in-charge of the VIP tent and offered us two tickets.  We got to sit in the very front, eat desserts with the VIPs at intermission, have our picture taken, and wear really cool lanyards.  Talk about being in the right place at the right time!

We really had a blast and highly recommend the show!

Four Months

4 Month Stats
Height: 26 in. - 99%
Weight - 15 lbs. 7 oz. - 90%
Head - Something - 50%

Since we have moved on to saying Hadley is "almost 5 months," I figure it is time to post the four month pictures.  This month:

Hadley is still a little angel*sleeps like a champ*eats like a champ*rolls to her belly every time we put her down*started doing a real laugh (mainly at other people, sadly we can't get her to do it for us very often)*cries when we put her down for the night (Dad always goes and saves her though)*rode on her first airplane ride...I have a whole new respect for those traveling with children*went to a USC football game*went to a BYU football game*still loves the bathtub*discovered a very unconventional way of army crawling, it involves her bum being very high in the air and her face planted in the ground*chews on EVERYTHING*drools on everything*spits up on everything*smiles at everything.

That's our Hadley Girl.  As you can tell, we can't get enough of her!

At least the dancing was good...

Hadley was getting tired of watching her Cougars on our little 27 inch, old school TV (Oh wait, maybe that was her dad...) So we made the trek to Cougar town, to watch the Cougars get creamed. At least she looked cute :)

At least the Cougarettes were still good. It was fun being able to see Aunt Lindsay perform!

Speaking of performances...

We were also able to see Aunt Michelle perform in World of Dance. She is on the theater ballet team at BYU, so it was amazing timing for us to be able to see her perform! Unfortunately, it is appearing that Hadley has many of her mom's genes, so the petite dancer build just might not be in her cards...although, there is always the back row. (That's where I was put in my dancing days. You know, with the "tall" kids...haha)

The Big 5-0!

The main reason for our whirlwind trip "home" this weekend was to surprise my mom for her birthday! My mom had been really sick this past week (amazing timing, I know!) so she stayed home from church. So we timed it to arrive then since she would be the only one home. We put Hadley on the doorstep and rang the doorbell, while everyone else hid. She was in bed and was refusing to answer since she hadn't showered in 2 days, so she didn't end up answering the door until like the seventh ring, but boy was she surprised! Because it was her birthday, as a present to her I won't post the video we took of the big surprise!

I'm so glad we were able to make the quick trip. It was so fun not having to miss out on yet another family event. My dad made my mom's favorite meal--shrimp and lobster, and my little sister picked up a chocolate mousse cheesecake from Cheesecake factory. The meal was delicious, I wish she would turn 50 more often.

I am so grateful for my mom. She is wonderful and would do anything for any of us. Now that I am a mom, I have developed a whole new appreciation for my mom (just like she said I would :) ) I love you mom, Happy Birthday!
here are a few photos we took before we left, unfortunately Derek had already gone home

Someday...

...I want to live in a place where I can't vacuum the entire
house using ONE outlet.
Where would we be without our dreams, right?

3 Months

We took about 50 pictures and about 45 of them were blurry because she was moving...
Here are Hadley's 3 month stats:
Weight - 13 lbs 15 oz - 75%
Height - 24 3/4 in - 95%
Head - 37 1/4 cm - 25%

Hadley has been so much fun this month:
-She has started this cute happy squeal/scream. She is constantly doing it. I can't wait for it to make it's church debut.
-She rolls from her back to her front (only to her left) practically every time we lay her down.
-She has begun drooling and drooling and drooling. Her Dr. said she wouldn't be surprised if her bottom teeth come in by her next appointment.
-She is still smiling, smiling, and smiling. She is a very content baby about 98% of the time.
-She went on her first road trip. We went to Utah and Idaho for three weeks (yes, I still need to blog about that) there she was blessed (should probably do a post about that) and she attended Aunt Nicole's wedding (that too :) Hadley was VERY good in the car. On the way there, we only had to stop twice!
-She went on her first trip to Disneyland!
-She learned to take a pacifier!!!
-She has discovered her hands and her fingers. It is so much fun watching her discover things with them.
-She has started to hit and grab her toys.

We just love our little Hadley girl!
